The Salem Fair is a 12-day event and is the largest fair in the state of Virginia. Located in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains of western Virginia, and conveniently off of I-81, Salem, Virginia is a city that is within Roanoke County. The Salem Fair was established in 1988 and takes place yearly during the first two weeks of July. This regionally-based agricultural fair has a 14-acre midway and provides fun for the entire family with a variety of amusement rides and games, entertainment such as magic shows and music concerts, vendor displays and attractions, and a wide selection of food. Admission and parking is free for this event. (If you want to ride any of the amusement rides, the fee for an all day wristband pass, is $20.00.)
